Knobbed French Handaxe
Another demonstration that our distant ancestors were capable of invention and ingenuity. Centered knob on cortical handaxe base, the knob serving as an unique handle. The outer, cutting edges remain sharp. Late Acheulian Period, Maritime Seine, France. Circa 250,000 BC. On custom museum stand.
